Our client, a world class consultancy developing medical devices, combination products and point-of-care systems based in South Cambridge, is looking for an Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor to join their team. This is ideally a full time role due to the busy workload, however part-time working opportunities will be considered.

Supporting the EH&S function, the role of the EHS Advisor is: to ensure that the company, all staff and all stakeholders comply with relevant EH&S regulations and policies; to develop and embed a regime that minimises risks and incidents; and, to promote safety. Success in the role will require outstanding communication skills and proactive collaboration with colleagues from across the business, particularly with Project Managers, the Device Testing team and the Facilities team.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Head of EH&S, the Advisor is responsible for:

The ideal candidate will have a BSc degree in a relevant subject such as engineering or science, and will hold a current EH&S qualification (e.g. NEBOSH). Demonstrable experience in a health and safety advisory role is essential. Candidates must have experience in implementing and maintaining EH&S policies, plans, procedures and reporting methods, alongside experience of working in a pharmaceutical and/or medical device development environment. Candidates must be expert risk assessors with a clear track record of continuous current knowledge of legislative requirements. Crisis management experience is desirable but not essential. Leadership skills including project management, time management, scoping, task prioritisation and stakeholder management are required for this role. Candidates must display excellent attention to detail, clear and concise communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. There may be some travel required in this role so candidates must be willing and able to travel.
