Our client, a scientific company based in South Cambridge, is looking to recruit for an Internal Sales Support role.
Job Description
This new position is required to support our client’s commercial activities and customers across Europe. The successful candidate will routinely work with the sales, marketing and technical teams, gaining deep knowledge and experience in these areas. The ideal candidate will either be a recent graduate in the sciences who is excited to start a career in scientific sales, or an experienced customer service professional looking to move into a commercial role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ownership of the sales CRM system data, ensuring data is complete and up to date
- Contacting sales leads and qualifying both in a technical and commercial manner
- Proactively prospect and contact potential or existing customers as part of targeted campaigns
- Generating quotes for customers and sales managers
- Ensuring all sales leads and customer/prospect enquiries are followed up in a professional and timely manner
- Triage of incoming technical support enquiries, where appropriate, providing support to customers
- Weekly & monthly reporting of activity and status
- Processing prospect, lead and contact information within Sales CRM
- Triaging, and where appropriate answering, incoming prospect and customer enquiries (webshop, phone, email)
- Providing sales administration support to senior sales managers
- Assisting with marketing and events activities as and when required
- Managing demonstration equipment and co-ordinating or running product demonstrations
- Coordinating customer training, workshops and events as necessary
- Together with the Commercial Manager act as default point of contact and host for visitors and events.
It is essential that candidates have the following skills and experience for this role:
- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification is required, ideally in a scientific discipline
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Demonstrable knowledge of the importance of excellent customer service, both internal and external, on commercial results.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications
- Professional telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct presentations in front of different types of audiences
- Experience in a similar sales-related role is beneficial but not a requirement, full training will be provided
- Knowledge of a European language could be useful but not a requirement
- Experience with Salesforce is beneficial but not a requirement, full training will be provided.
