Our client, based in South Cambridge, is looking to recruit an experienced New Business Development Manager to their successful team.
Job Description
The New Business Development Manager will work alongside the Sales Manager and Estimator as part of the small sales office and will report to the Managing Director. This role offers a great opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys a challenge to apply their skills and experience to generating new business from a large database of existing customers. This is a full time, office based role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Helping to increase sales
- Managing & retaining our client’s established customers
- Identifying and generate opportunities for new business from the existing customer database
- Identifying and generate opportunities from new website customers
- Identifying product gaps
- Ongoing tele-marketing research to provide a better understanding of our client’s customers’ needs and communicating to the team
- Obtaining information regarding competition and providing feedback on pricing and products
- Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, products and services – or new ways of reaching our client’s existing markets
- Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
- Liaise with the finance team, warehousing and logistics departments as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction is met
- Work with the Estimator to establish customer pricing and margins
- Manage your pipeline and provide activity and sales forecasts.
Candidates will need to have the following skills and experience to be successful in the role:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of new business development working in a hardware related industry
- A strong analytical mindset capable of analysing customer accounts and identifying opportunities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to transform customer conversations into business-driving relationships
- Exceptional customer service skills and a warm telephone manner
- The ability to work as part of a small team
- Due to the rural location, candidates will need to have their own transport.
